The Union took part in the International Forum "Actual questions of technical regulation and standardization in EAEU."
The event was held in the format of a joint meeting of the RUIE Committee on Industrial Policy and Technical Regulation and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Committee on Technical Regulation, Standardization and Quality. The representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, authorities and leading business-association discussed the current condition of technical regulation and standardization in the EAEU countries, problems and key directions for improving.
Experts say that nowadays there is a necessity to increase the efficiency of international standardization in order to form the evidence base of technical requirements. Despite the existing system of technical regulation of the EAEU countries, the pace of updating regarding requirements doesn’t correspond with the demands of the time. The evaluation of scientific and technical level of adopted documents is sometimes conducted superficially.
Experts pointed out to the constructive interaction of business community, profile national authorities and the Head for the Eurasian Economic Commission. During the discussion specific steps and measures for harmonizing the spheres of technical regulation and standardization in EAEU have been presented, the work will continue.
